Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM) and Insulin Pumps
Continuous glucose monitors (CGM) are wearable devices that perform hundreds of glucose measurements (day or night) nearly eliminating the need for finger sticks. Often the glucose readings can be collected on a cellphone or the provided glucose receiver via Bluetooth®. Researchers Chehregosha et al note that CGM’s provide a personalized approach to diabetes management unlocking the mystery behind the HbA1c. CGM supported lifestyle change enables the user to make decisions with real time feedback.
